Brief on Career: | Stevie is an experienced DJ and professional radio presenter, who has been Dj'ing for over 25 years (wow!!). He started dj'ing at the age of 14 at his parent’s and their friends house parties, in 70’s. Being very knowledgeable and passionate about all black music ranging from Jazz – Funk, Reggae, Disco, Nu-modern Soul and swing beat Stevie is always in demand as he can seamlessly play across a wide range of soul and reggae music without skipping a beat. Whether Dj'ing at a Club, birthday party, wedding or playing background music at a dinner party, he never fails to entertain. “I believe Djing should be about moving the crowd and not entertaining yourself, as it’s not always about mixing and scratching, but more about playing the music your crowd wants to hear...simple” Stevie has played with many well-known and established DJ’s such as Trevor Nelson, Tim Westwood, Chris Goldfinger and DJ Spooney all from BBC Radio 1, at venues all over the country; Newcastle, Birmingham, London, just to name but a few. He has held residencies at various bars and clubs in Sheffield, Huddersfield, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Wakefield and London Finally, the last word from Stevie “The two biggest enemies to a DJ is an empty dance floor and trying to impress just your mates! So, remember if you are a up and coming DJ or an established one who hardly gets jobs, never play for yourself...always...but always entertain the crowd as they are the one’s who will make or break you.” |
